POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:
In this role you will be an innovative leader driving the future of Cold Box technology. You will direct your team and help them apply experimental and analytical skills to innovate solutions to a range of complex industrial problems associated with the design, construction and operation of air separation plants' cryogenic equipment containment systems; their cold boxes. This position will involve the management of personnel and will address technical programs aimed at reducing the time to engineer and cost to construct cryogenic cold boxes. A background in cryogenic engineering or the industrial gas industry is an advantage, but not essential.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Develop a technology roadmap by working with key stakeholders in the engineering, execution and R&D organization. * Execute a portfolio of programs targeted at reducing cost, schedule and risk associated with cold box design and construction. * Manage projects from concept through commercialization via a formal stage-gate process. * Interaction with other departments/organizations to ensure strategy is aligned with overall goals * Managing the group's annual budget, critical goals, project priorities, milestones and resource allocations * Responsible for recruiting, people development, coaching, performance management process * Maintaining a safe and effective work processes QUALIFICATIONS: Basic: * Master's (MS) degree in Mechanical, Structural or Cryogenic Engineering (or similar) * 10 years' relevant experience * Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international) * Self-starter with a focus on safety * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Preferred: * Experience with cold box engineering * Experience with large scale project execution * Background in heat/mass transfer and/or risk management * Experience with cryogenic equipment and systems Praxair is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer - M/F/D/V
