Field Construction Manager - Can be based anywhere
Title: Field Construction Manager - Can be based anywhere Location: NY-Tonawanda Responsible for the overall project specific site construction management process. This includes construction costs, schedule, quality, contract administration, and safety. Position must maintain a thorough knowledge of new industry initiative including new product development. Position ensures the Praxair construction management process including contractor performance and site activities; and recommends changes to improve process, contracting strategy and engineering definition. Position is responsible to manage on site industrial construction activities with an emphasis on contracting administration, effective site execution through constructability, scheduling and cost control. This position also serves as a vital linkage between construction and engineering. On site problem solving, including contract and scope dispute resolution, engineering reviews and change management will be necessary skills.
Specific responsibilities: * Complete construction site management accountability * Support project specific proposal preparation, i.e. contracting strategy, implementation of industry best practices, and constructability reviews. * Assist in review of plans and bid packages, specifications, and cost estimates for completeness, constructability, and accuracy. * Assist project teams in contractor solicitation planning, selection, and administration. * Drive construction progress for compliance with safety rules and regulations, assure construction activity is in conformance to applicable work processes. * Perform field safety assessments, quality audits, and overall scope, cost and schedule control updates. * Innovation The position requires 100% travel with the incumbent residing at various locations and project specific construction sites throughout the US.
Salary level of position will be based on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
This position ban be based anywhere in the US. Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 5 years of industrial construction experience
ORAssociates degree with 7 years experience including 2 years in construction management
OR10 years experience, including 4 years of construction management if no degree.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP)and/or Professional Engineering (PE) license highly desirable for advanced level Field Construction Manager. Position.
Must have proficiency with Microsoft Projects, Excel, and Word.
Extensive leadership, interpersonal, communication and change management skills essential.
Must be flexible and have a positive, can do attitude.
