The Unplanned Maintenance Technician - Airframe & Powerplant - position is designated for the Tucson Business Aircraft Service Center. The Unplanned Maintenance Technician will perform troubleshooting and maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, avionics, electrical, and/or electronic systems, wherever it is located. Travel my include International assignments. Additional work on drop-ins and planned maintenance within the facility during slow periods of unplanned maintenance may be required.
The Unplanned Maintenance Group will be comprised of technicians that are hangar based and are assigned to drop-in aircraft and technicians that travel and are assigned to AOG aircraft. For the technician assigned to AOG aircraft, there will be considerable travel and extended assignments within North America. Must have the ability to be "ready to travel" with as little as 2 hours notice. Potential for International travel for extended periods of time and possibly to remote areas with few modern conveniences. Unscheduled overtime including weekends and holidays may occur.
Shift hours for the position are Thursday - Sunday, 06:00 am to 04:30 pm. As Bombardier operates on a 24/7 schedule, work hours will vary.
Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 3 years aircraft maintenance experience or substantiated equivalent experience - FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificates required - Unscheduled overtime including weekends and holidays will occur - Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned employees, other business areas, contractors, and customers - Must have a valid drivers' license - Ability to communicate easily and accurately with customers at all levels - Ability to work independently - Ability to obtain a passport for International assignments. - Ability to obtain a Security Indentification Display Area badge (SIDA) - Must be able to obtain a Bombardier Corporate Credit Card - Basic set of hand tools
Additional Desired Qualifications
- 2 years Bombardier experience - 3+ years of Avionics/Electrical experience. - 5 years of Line Maintenance experience - FSR experience - Bi-lingual (Spanish)
