Engineer for Automotive Lighting

Direct and support the design and development of new automotive light sources, as well as improvements and cost reductions of existing automotive light sources, and their related manufacturing processes. Light sources are inclusive of, but not limited to Halogen, Miniature incandescent, and LED applications. Will be responsible for project management, generating specifications to ISO standards, product testing, and process development. Identify potential customer needs through direct technical interactions. Will interface with materials suppliers, equipment design and suppliers, customers, sales, marketing, and manufacturing associates. Some travel may be required.
Solid understanding of engineering principles and their applications. Strong materials knowledge/ background required. General knowledge of lamp manufacturing, lamp photometrics, and associated processes, desired. Experience in a product design/development and Project management experience is a plus.
Individual must be well organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, automotive environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Materials / Glass / or Ceramic discipline preferred. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and strong presentation skills required. Solid Works, and or AutoCad experience a plus. Competency in applied statistical methods/ PQI/ LEAN / Six Sigma trained is a plus.
