This business unit, the position and US headquarters are located at this Southern NH location. The Company is the world leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of advanced material, component, and assembly solutions used in a broad array of end products, manufacturing systems, and industries. Their products service the Semiconductor, Vacuum Process, Opto-electronics, Laser, Infrared and Thin Film Coating industries.
POSITION: Director Sales and Marketing reports to General Manager Vacuum Solutions
The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate must have a solid mechanical engineering background, (NOTE: A mechanical engineering degree is required), be process oriented, and be a strong leader with the ability to lead, direct and guide the team. He/she will have strong interpersonal skills, decision making ability, nego-tiation and organizational skills. This Director will need to be experienced in business development and marketing and will be responsible for attaining revenue targets and developing plans for future growth. An individual who understands the companys industries (Semiconductor, Vacuum Process, Opto-electronics, Laser, Infrared and Thin Film Coating), high tech manufacturing, has worked for an international manufacturing company is preferred. The ability to interact constructively with the man-agement team and President is essential. He/she will be strong in the human resources side of leader-ship with the ability to build relationships, mentor, motivate and mediate. It would be helpful that he/she will have a minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing, understand the high technology industry, knowledge of organizational development, key account development and sales and marketing leadership in their background. Ability to speak Chinese a plus.

SUMMARY
Plans and directs all sales, customer service, and marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the Vacuum Solutions business unit. Responsible for attaining revenue targets and developing plans for future growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops the annual revenue budget and provides periodic forecast revisions for the business unit Analyzes financial activities in areas of costs, operations, and forecast data to progress toward goals within budgetary requirements Maintains a high level of field sales efficiency through analysis of quote hit rates, cost center spending, and overall resource utilization Reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine required changes in programs or op-erations Supports business unit personnel on matters that require upper management involvement. In-cludes activities such as making sales calls, negotiating contracts, and working to resolve busi-ness and product-related problems Directs activities to implement key strategic and tactical marketing plans Directs and coordinates promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry Informs executive management of status, needs, and trends in the competitive marketplace Deters competition through optimal account management and customer support activities Identifies and qualifies new growth areas for existing technology/products outside traditional markets to support the business units growth targets Supports global efforts to build and maintain an international corporate identity Participates in the organizations strategic planning process. Formulates and directs the sales and marketing activities of the business unit towards the accomplishment of corporate and business unit long-range goals and objectives
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs, coordinates, and evaluates activities of the sales, customer service, and marketing func-tions of the business unit to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and to maximize profits
Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities of subordinate managers and supervisors are defined and understood. Evaluates performance and provides both informal and formal feedback Optimizes field sales performance through motivation, effective communication of objectives and priorities, leadership, ongoing sales/product training, performance evaluations, sales meet-ings, and presence in the field Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and ap-plicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering is required MBA desirable Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Business development experience is required Marketing experience is required 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in strategic planning Working knowledge of semiconductor applications and vacuum is preferable

Ability to travel 40-45% (70% domestically and 30% internationally)
